Robert Amos Wilhite

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roberta Vivian Haug and James Welch Wilhite; and his first wife, Linda Westbrook, and her mother, Inez May.

Robert is survived by his wife of 18 years, Nelda J. Wilhite; his children, Cheryl Wilhite, Jana Burchett and husband Jamey, Alan Wilhite, and Suzanne Estep and husband Jason; his sister, LoAnna Chance; grandchildren, Jodi Burchett, Jake Burchett, Rebekah Reed, and Lauren McConnell; 5 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy, a coach of little league football and baseball, a long-time hard worker in the flooring industry, and a dedicated church Elder and Treasurer who could be seen there every Sunday sharply dressed in a suit and tie. He loved Bill O’Reilly, John Grisham novels, and watching the Little League World Series.

A visitation for family and friends will be held On Friday, May 25, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77039. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 12pm at Liberty Hills Cemetery in Frankston, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 12:30pm at Second Christian Church, 4801 Edison St., Houston, Texas, 77009.
