Robert “Earle” White, 92 of Houston passed from this life on September 24, 2018. Born July 22, 1926 in Shreveport, LA to Cade Wallace and Rubye Wear White. Graduating from Lamar High School, Houston in 1943, he then served as Army Sgt. 1st class in Europe during WWII. Earle earned a MBA from the University of Houston in 1953.
He began his career with McKesson and Robbins, then joined Dugan Drugs as COO until their merger with Madding Drugs. He was founder and CEO of Bellaire Pharmacy. He moved his family to Sharpstown Country Club Estates in 1961. He accepted a management position with Dayton Hudson. Later in his career he accepted the position of manager of multi-family housing for the Federal Housing and Urban Development Bureau until his retirement in 1994.
He is preceded in death by his parents and, his wife of 65 years, Eddie Jean. He is survived by sons Robert Earle, Jr. and Craig Alan and wife Renee White of Houston; his grandchildren Kelly Rachelle, Amanda Renee, David Alan, and Alec Nathan White of Houston. Earle was a member of the Elks Club, the 41er’s Club, and was a long-time member of St. Martins Episcopal Church. Earle was well-respected businessman and a loving father and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 2018 1:00-5:00PM at Forest Park Westheimer. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Rd. at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Martin J. Bastian officiating. Immediately following, will be a reception in Bagby Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Earle’s memory to the church Endowment Fund, 717 Sage Rd. Houston, TX 77056 or to the charity of one’s choice.
