Bob was born on the 23rd of June 1932 to Dennis and Frances Rickard in Gering, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1954. After serving two years in the United States Army, he returned to the University of Denver and received his MBA in 1958. Bob joined the Denver office of Arthur Anderson and Company in 1961. In 1969, he became a partner with the Denver office and then transferred to the Omaha office in 1970 and to the Houston office in 1975. During his twenty three years with Arthur Anderson, Bob made significant business and civic contributions. He was Treasurer of The Alley Theater for eight years, Vice President of the National Association of Accountants and President of the Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts. He was also a long term volunteer for Junior Achievement. Bob continued his professional career with Tramell Crow in the Dallas and Los Angeles offices until his retirement in 1995.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his younger brother, Duane Rickard; his children, Robert Rickard and his wife, Michelle, Cynthia Weyermann and her husband, Hans Peter, Katharine Miles and her husband, David. His surviving grandchildren are Jake Rickard and wife Wendy, Erik Rickard, Austin Weyermann, Marcus Weyermann, Alexander Miles, Gabrielle Rickard, and Spencer Miles. His great grandchildren are Riley Rickard and Emma Rickard. The family would also like to thank his loving family at Sunrise of Cinco Ranch and the hospice team from A-Med for their dignified and gentle care.
A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 2nd of July, at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 12535 Perthsire Rd in Houston, where the Rev. Joshua Condon, Rector, is to officiate.
