Husband, father, and grandfather, Robert A. Hester Jr., known to all as Bubba, entered the gates of Heaven and into the arms of Jesus on June 5, 2022, at the age of 70.
Robert was born on September 13, 1951 in Houston, Texas as the youngest of four children to Robert and Beverly Hester. He graduated from Sam Houston High School, went on to the University of Texas for three years and finished at the University of Houston, where he earned a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration. After graduation, he began his career as a hydraulic salesman and was soon promoted to manage the entire state of Texas for more than 30 years. He went on to retire in 2013 to enjoy time with his family and loved ones.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Beverly Hester, nephew Davy Renfro and his grandson Samuel Hester. Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy of faith and family are his wife Kayla; his son Wade and daughter-in-law Renea; his daughter Jace and son-in-law Vince. He has six grandchildren: Brice, Tatum, Ella, Elijah, Bear and Beau. Robert is also survived by his sisters and their spouses; Beverly and Tommy Reed, Peggy and Chuck Schrick, Kathy and Bill Bivens, sister- in-law Cheryl Kirkpatrick, one niece, five nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Bubba was a man of strong faith who loved spreading the word of Jesus to all he encountered. He loved his family fiercely and taught them to put the Lord first. He was a generous man who dedicated his time to serving others in various ministries throughout his life. He was a great athlete and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Above all else, he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
