Robert Albury Gillingham

November 15, 1918 - May 16, 2011

Houston – Robert A. Gillingham passed away Monday, May 16, 2011. Robert (Bob) traveled through more than 9 decades of life experiences of which 67 years he shared with his lifelong true love, Wilma Gillingham. Bob graduated from Rice University and served in the Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the KPRC basketball team in Houston.

Bob was also an accomplished tennis player well into his 70’s. He spent most of his career as a self-employed CPA. Bob was able to retire at an early age allowing he & Wilma

to travel several months of the year enjoying the numerous friends they made at their favorite destinations in Arkansas and Alabama.

Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. just ahead of the service.

Robert was preceded in death by his Father – Victor, Mother – Margaret, Brother – Lawrence and Daughter - Barbara. Survivors: His wife of 67 years, Wilma; sons, Roy, Dan and

his wife Karen, Grandsons – Robby and his wife Gena, Brad and his wife Merritt, Douglas and his partner Brandy, Granddaughter Lisa. Great Grandchildren – Alex, Celeste, MacKenzie, Charity, Natalie and Hunter.
