Robert “Bob” Flores, age 83, entered eternal rest on March 13, 2021. He was born on August 7, 1937 in Houston, Texas. Robert is survived by his beautiful wife of 56 years Olga C. Flores, 2 daughters, Yvonne Moreno (Mitchell), Yvette Flores-Garcia (Moses), two grandchildren, Julia Moreno and Monica Garcia and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Julia Flores, sisters Frances and Edelia, and brothers Joe, Rosendo and Jesus, Jr. Robert graduated from Jefferson Davis High School (now Northside High School) in Houston, Texas in 1956. After graduation, Robert began working as a packer in the warehouse at Wright Light, Inc., working his way up over the course of 30 years, to sales and finally as Shipping Manager. Robert served in the United States Army and drove a tank as a member of the 1st Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas. After his time in the Army, Robert and Olga were married on November 1, 1964 and built a comfortable life together. Family and friends were most important to Robert and he spent his spare time playing lotería and poker with his siblings, golfing almost every weekend with his friends in the Houston chapter of the Pan American Golf Association, and watching sports on television, especially the Houston sports teams and professional golf. Robert continued to work as a Shipping Manager at Suhm Spring Works, Inc. until he retired at the age of 80.
Rosary, viewing and celebration will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo Navigation starting at 10:30 a.m. with a burial to follow at 3:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale.
