Robert Ferguson Abernathy

Robert (Bob) Abernathy was born September 28, 1950 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He graduated from Jeffersonville High School in Indiana. Later in his life he moved to Houston, Tx to enhance his career in the Automotive Industry where he became very successful. In 2011 he bought Ron Carter of Clearlake. Thanks to Bob’s great leadership and the love he had for all of his employees, the dealership became one of Houston’s top dealers in his region. He has had some of the best managers by his side to help him with this astonishing achievement. When he owned Ron Carter it was very active in the community, giving to many charities and when they saw the need they were there to help.

Bob always put others first. Everyone who knew Bob, loved Bob from that moment on. He will be missed beyond words.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents William Abernathy, Sr and Clara Ann Abernathy, sisters; Anita Lee and Frances Ann Windell. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 wonderful years Delynn Abernathy of Katy, Tx, children; Casie Shores of Katy, Tx and Joshua Shores of Katy, Tx. and granddaughter Carissa Pilling. Bob is also survived by his brother, Billy Abernathy, Jr. of Indiana, his sister Kathy Peak and her husband, Tom Peak of Indiana as well as numerous nieces and nephews that he loved so much.

Bob has so many people who love and admire him so much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday 01/18 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Texas Liberty Mausoleum located at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Tx 77079 immediately followed by a catered reception at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
