Sergeant Richard V. Wilson, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Richard was a beloved husband and mate for forty years to Cindy his childhood sweetheart. He lived for his girls, Mandy and Jeannie and grandchildren. Beyond being a beloved husband, father, and grandfather he was a faithful servant to the City of Houston Police Department for 30 years. The role of Sergeant Wilson embodied his life. He died feeling he still had more to give. Richard received his Bachelor’s Degree from Midwestern State University and his Master’s Degree in Criminology from The University of Houston Clearlake. Throughout his career he received a multitude of awards and Commendations from both citizens and the department.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Samuel Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cynthia Wilson and daughter, Amanda Paige and husband Barry Stiles, grandchildren Hudson and Lennon, daughter Jeannie Barker and husband Cody Barker, and soon-to-be grandson Barrett Barker, and mother, Norma Wilson.
The Wilson family would like everyone who loved him and was touched by his compassionate personality to join them at his Funeral service on Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 10:00am to celebrate his life.
