Richard graduated from Jefferson Davis HS, class of 1968. He retired from AT&T after 36 years of service. He was married to Amalia Montemayor. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend to many. He was the most unselfish and giving person that anyone knew. He was an excellent provider. He was loyal to his family, friends and his career. Richard will never truly be gone, we will always carry him with us in our hearts for our lifetimes. He was full of life and energy and shared it with all of those that surrounded him. He cared for everyone around him and would always be a strong shoulder for anyone to lean on. His grandchildren meant the world to him. His favorite times included being with his family, cooking, working out (by going to the dry sauna only for two hours at a time). He loved music! Richard thought that he was a mariachi at times and would belt out any song that played with gritos and shaking one arm in the air. We accept the Lord’s blessing as he relieves our daddy from pain and suffering.
Richard is survived by his wife, Amalia Montemayor, his daughter, Monica M. Montemayor. His son, Ricardo Montemayor and his grandchildren, Ernest A. Ramos Jr and Sofia Faith Montemayor. His sister, Sylvia Smith.
A memorial service for Richard will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
