Richard was born on October 6, 1930 in Houston, Texas. He attended Jeff Davis High School and the University of Houston. Richard served with the US Army in Germany as a Cryptographic Technician.
After his service, Richard worked in the banking industry for many years, at various institutions. Later on, he became an independent insurance agent until his retirement.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard Rene Martinez; granddaughter, Lara N. Martinez; sister, Mary Ann Hall. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomasa “Tommie” and Antonio L. Martinez; brothers, Adolph J. Martinez, Maurice A. Martinez, and Anthony J. Martinez.
Visitation will be held from 12 – 1:30 PM, Monday November 1st, 2021, with the Rosary being recited at 1:30 PM. The burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
