Richard Allen Howard (Dick), whose kindness and generous spirit enriched people for over 60 years, took his final Harley ride on February 22, 2013 surrounded by loving family. As he down shifted his Harley to 1st gear, the Golden Gates of Heaven automatically opened to welcome his arrival.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Dean Howard and Deloris Faye Howard. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 29 years, Rose Howard, son Richard Howard and wife Chris Howard with children Trey, Nate, and Peyton and daughter Rachelle Estep with children Elexas, Sean, and Tyler. He is also survived by siblings William, Brenda, Shelby, John, and numerous nephews, nieces, friends, and family.
Dick was born in Salpulpa, Oklahoma on January 13th, 1953 and came to Houston in 1964. He graduated from Waltrip High School in 1971, and married Rose in 1988. He enjoyed working in the oil and trucking field, but his real enjoyment came from riding motorcycles, listening to music, playing golf, and being around family and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Sunday March 3, 2013 at 2:00 pm with a memorial service following at 3:00 pm. Both services will be held in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77024.
