Reuben John Danchak, Jr. 84 of Houston, Texas passed away at his home on December 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 29, 1935 in New Ulm, Texas to Reuben John and Elda (Aurich) Danchak. Reuben was a great story teller and enjoyed building model radio controlled airplanes in his spare time. The latest airplane project has a wing span of 8 ft. He also enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and watching old western movies. One of his greatest enjoyments is being involved and watching his grandchildren’s activities. He served in the United States Navy and was one of the original members of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church.
Reuben is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Rita Swatloski Danchak; daughters, Regina Kasowski and husband, Michael; Bernadette Baughman and husband, Darrell; grandchildren, Justin Kasowski, and wife, Amanda; Marshall Kasowski and McKenna Kasowski; sister, Geneva Wenzler; sister-in-law, Linda Danchak along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Reuben John Danchak; mother, Elda Aurich and step-mother, Roma Glaeser Danchak who raised him from a very young age; brother, Robert L. Danchak and brother-in-law, Robert Wenzler.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Monday, December 30, 2019 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 9915 Hollister Dr, Houston, with burial following at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery where he will receive military honors from the United States Navy. Visitation will be Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a rosary being recited at 6:00pm.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Kasowski, Darrell Baughman, Justin Kasowski, Marshall Kasowski, Michael Romano and David Romano.
