Raymundo Garcia completed his earthly journey on June 17, 2022 at the age of 95. Ray, as he was commonly called, was born in Houston, TX on November 19, 1926. Ray will be remembered by his friends and family as a hard-working person and one who demonstrated care, love, and support to his family. Ray and Guadalupe Valles Garcia were united in marriage on October 2, 1951 for 71 years.
As a young man Ray joined the United Coast Guard and National Merchant Marines. After retiring as a seaman on the oil tankers, Ray became known as everyone's washer and dryer repairman. A couple of his passions were his love of attending Friday night wrestling matches as well as following and attending Houston Astros ballgames.
Preceding Ray in death are his parents, Mauro Garcia and Josefina Marin Garcia; four brothers Mateo, Paulino, Mauro, Moses; four sisters, Beatrice, Isabel, Florence, Herlinda, Ester; and daughter Rosie Velasquez.
Surviving Ray is his wife, Guadalupe V. Garcia, his sister, Abigail Garcia and his brother Johnny Garcia. Also, surviving Ray are his daughters; Elizabeth G. Trujillo with her spouse Agustin Trujillo Jr., and Valery M. Garcia. His sons are Raymond Garcia Jr. with his spouse Gloria Garcia, Anthony R. Garcia and his spouse Sophia Garcia, and John A. Garcia. Ray had 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Raymundo will be held Monday, June 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo - Broadway, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, Texas 77087. A prayer service will occur Monday, June 27, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, Texas 77087. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, Texas 77087. A committal service will occur Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77305.
