Raymond was born December 29, 1944 in Houston, Texas to the late Emilio and Refugio Figueroa. He was one of twelve children, six who preceded him in death.
Raymond was a decorated Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War and ended his military career in the Army Reserves in 1971. He married in 1972 and two sons were born from this union. He was very dedicated to his family, especially his sons and mother. He loved to read, spend time with the family, laugh, go to the beach, but his favorite thing was taking his sons to the movies. Raymond was a loving and caring man, devoted friend, and always thinking of others first. To know him was to love him.
Raymond leaves to cherish his loving memory his sons, Ray and his wife Kayla and John and his wife Sarah. He also leaves his grand children Sophia, Gabriela, Robert, and Sadie, as well as his sisters Connie Smith and Teresa Martinez, brothers Louis, Joe, and Benjamin.
A visitation for Raymond will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A visitation will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
