Ray Del Pilar Miranda passed away on August 24th, 2024, at the age of 69. He was born in Houston, Texas on August 2nd, 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents Lorenzo C. Miranda and Irene Gonzales Miranda.
Ray is survived by his son Lawrence Ray Miranda and wife Tammy Miranda, daughter Christina Rae Miranda and husband Gus Knebel, and former spouse Esther Salazar. He leaves behind two grandsons Lorenzo Anthony Miranda and Xavier Matthew Miranda. Along with his siblings Rosemary Gutierrez, Patsy and Paul Sanchez, Mary Elizabeth and Manuel Mendez, Sonya Rodriguez, Lorenzo C. Miranda Jr, Yvonne and Khannan Suntharam, and Laura Miranda. He is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Ray worked for many years in the oil and gas industry before making a career change. Over the past few years, he was a proud owner of his own remodeling business. He met several people along his career. He loved cars, especially mustangs. He always enjoyed spending time with his family. One of his biggest loves was sports, especially baseball. Baseball was a true passion for him. He spent many days at the ball field with his son Lawrence. The love he had for the game passed on to his son and his grandsons. He also enjoyed watching football and Disney movies, especially the Lion King, with his daughter Christina. He was a proud father and grandfather.
A visitation for Ray will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 6, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Christopher Church 8150 Park Pl Blvd, Houston, TX 77017. A committal service will occur Friday, September 6, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
