Rachel Dominguez Guerrero of Houston, TX passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on July 14, 1946 in Houston to Lorenzo and Luz Dominguez and was the youngest of 6 children.
Rachel graduated from Milby High School in Houston. She worked for the US Post Office before beginning her career as an administrative assistant with HISD, where she retired after over 30 years of service.
Rachel was actively involved in many organizations including Young at Hearts, the Milby Hispanic Alumni Association, Red Hatters Society, Houston Rodeo, and volunteer work at St Luke’s Hospital.
Rachel is preceded in death by her husband, Tony Guerrero; son, Lorenzo Guerrero; brothers, Lorenzo Jr and Margarito Dominguez, and sister, Esther Martinez.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Anthony and Chris Guerrero; and her grandchildren; Ashley Guerrero, Izabella Guerrero, Roberto Guerrero, Victoria Guerrero and Antonio Guerrero.
Family and friends are invited to pay final respects on Monday April 8, 2024. Visitation with the family will begin at 5pm, with a rosary starting at 7pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St Houston, TX 77023.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2024 a final visitation will take place from 8am - 9:30am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 7539 Avenue K, Houston, TX with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at 11am.
Flowers are welcomed. However, if preferred, people may consider making a donation in Rachel’s honor to The International Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation (IWMF) - a patient-funded and patient-driven, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to help people with this rare disease.
