Pete Gandolfo, age 71, formerly of Houston, TX and recently from Bellville, TX, passed from this life to the next on the 5th of May 2021, in the presence of family at Houston Methodist West Hospital in Houston TX. Pete was born on the 30th of May 1949, in the Bronx, New York to Peter Michael Sr. and Rose Gandolfo. He grew up in Tarrytown, NY on the banks of the Hudson River, and moved to Houston in 1976.
He’s survived by his three siblings, Janet Gandolfo Esq, Paul Gandolfo (Chrysteen), and Chrissy Radasch (Peter). He is survived by the love of his life of 50 years, Kathy. Also survived by his son Peter Michael Gandolfo III (Kelly), son Chris (Jessica), daughter Lindsay Rose, and his “baby” Brittany Haley (Will). And 13 grandchildren, Peter Michael Gandolfo IV, Taylor, Grayson, Cooper, Hayden, Camilla, Brooklyn, Bella, Liam, Braxton, Caleb, Arden, and Venice.
Much like his lifelong marriage, he had only one career since graduation from Marquette University in 1971 and that was with his 2nd love, OHM International Corporation, where he was the President/CEO since 1983. During his 50 year career to date, he had the privilege of visiting 63 countries the world over. But he would tell you, far more important than the many professional successes he achieved, was his deep and profound personal relationships with Jesus Christ and His Immaculate Mother Mary. He credited the roots of his faith to a pilgrimage trip taken to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia in the late 1980's and since that time, was a daily communicant with strong, daily devotions to the rosary and Eucharistic Adoration. He started his days at 4:30am in the Word of God and if you asked him out to lunch or dinner on a Wednesday or Friday he’d politely decline without ever letting you know that he was fasting for the benefit of the Kingdom. Furthering his service to the Lord, in 2009, he joined the Order of Malta whose primary charism is attending to the poor and sick. He became a Knight of Obedience in the Order in 2014. With Malta, he had taken many missionary trips to Marian Shrines in Lourdes, France and Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, Wisconsin. He was a gentle, unassuming man who would rather listen to you all day long then utter a word of his own. In a world that has gone "Business Casual" he donned a full suit and tie every day and handed out smiles from sun up to sun down. Bottom line, he was a peacemaker who ‘did it right' and his life song sang as a testimony to such devotion.
