Paul Christopher Suter

Paul Christopher Suter, 67 of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully from congestive heart failure on October 27, 2021. Paul was born in Bonne Terre Missouri on January 26, 1954 to his loving parents, Lois Ann and Cecil H Suter. He was the oldest of six children and over the course of his childhood years lived in upstate New York, Brazil, S.A., Calumet, Michigan, and the Chicagoland area, before setting his roots in Houston, TX.

He attended St. Ignatius of Loyola grade school in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and graduated from Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL. He attended the Divine Word Seminary in Epworth, Iowa for two years, then graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa in 1976 with a BA in English.

After graduation Paul began his career as an English teacher, followed by work in the hospitality industry, then many years as a paralegal for various law firms in the Houston area. On June 25, 1988, Paul married his dear wife, Erlinda Refuerzo. He and Linda enjoyed their life in Houston for 32 years before she preceded him in death one year ago. They were members of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church.

Paul was a bright, jovial, big hearted person who loved his family, his legal work, reading and playing various musical instruments. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed many ocean cruises with his wife, Linda.

Paul was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lois Ann and Cecil Suter and his beloved wife, Linda.

He will be greatly missed by his loving brothers and sisters; Anne-Judine (Jon) Knudsen, David (Debra) Suter, Joel (Monica) Suter, Gregory Suter and Mary Frances (Robert) Wiacek; his stepdaughter, Eva (Shaun) Smith, stepson, Jarrall (Stephanie) Barrow and granddaughter Mary Avery Smith. Uncle Paul will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr. Spring, TX 77379 on Friday, December 10, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m.
