She made holidays special for all of her brothers, parents and children. She brought her parents, youngest brother Glen and daughters Beverly and Joyce out of poverty and gave all of her family a wonderful home base for holidays and special occasions. She was a true example of what the Greatest Generation was all about.
She was a strong Democrat her entire life. She never missed voting and loved her country.
She was an avid reader, crocheted beautiful rag rugs, gardening and loved to dance.
We would like to thank Kim Canal and Sheli Smart for their love, care and kindness in her last days and Robert Priest for his love and comfort when she needed it most.
To have known her at all was simply a delight. To have loved her well was a treasure. Her death is an unmeasurable loss for her family and friends.
God speed, Mother. You will be so missed.
At her request, there will be no service. There will be a memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her honor can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Houston SPCA, two of her favorite charities.
