She met G.B. Powell Jr. in Houston, Texas and married on May 20, 1961. Patricia had a career in Secretarial at Burnett's Landscapes for 20 years. She was a member of the National PTA Association. Patricia had a gentle and kind heart some of her passions included caring for animals and gardening.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Granville B. Powell; father, James Walter Phipps Sr.; mother, Josie "Susie" Schultz; and brother, James Walter Phipps Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Steven Powell; daughter, Valerie Zavala; granddaughter, Stephanie Zavala; and grandson, Ace Zavala.
A visitation for Patricia will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM, at Brookside Funeral Home. A committal service will occur Friday, July 26, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Stephanie Zavala, Ace Zavala, Jesus Gomez and William Polk.
