a military servant of the United States Air Force, and Delphina
Odessa Coleman, in Fairfield, California. She was their second child.
Having relocated to several cities and states, Mr. Coleman was
eventually transferred to Houston in 1966. Patricia went to Chatham
Elementary, Northwood Middle, and she graduated from Forest
Brook High School in 1975.
Patricia, better known as Pat, joined Forest Lawn Missionary Baptist Church,
and was baptized by Rev. M. L. Byrant in 1967, and she
remained a faithful member until her death. She loved to sing. She
would sing through any and every song that she knew the words
to. God gifted her with a wonderful and beautiful voice, and she
was found leading many songs as she was also a member of the
mass choir. She organized and was the Director of the Sunshine’s
Children’s Choir, assisted in the organization of Church Health Fairs,
and one of the Directors of the church’s Vacation Bible School.
During Pat’s 57 years of membership with Forest Lawn, she served
under the leadership of Rev. M. L. Byrant, Rev. Ricky Bell, and Rev.
Michael Elmore, and she absolutely loved each one of them.
When Pat was not singing, she loved spending time with her
grandchildren and family.
After devoting 36 years of employment, Pat retired from the Port of
Houston Authority where she worked as a Payroll Specialist.
Her parents Elmer and Delphina Coleman, and her sister Daphne
Hoard proceeds her in death, and she leaves to cherish her memory
her sons: Eric Moses and Aaron Ard (Simone), Sisters: Janice White,
Pamela Mitchell (Percy), and Adriene Harrison. One brother, Michael
Coleman (Carolyn); three grandchildren: Jace, Adonis, and Aria Ard
who were the loves of her life; her nieces and nephews;
her beautiful aunts, her uncle, and a host of
family and friends.
