Pamela Antoinette Guillory-McCauley was born to Anita and Alfred Guillory in Houston, Texas on June 25, 1970. She was the youngest of seven children, a living doll to her adoring siblings. Pam truly embodied her given name “pan”, meaning “all”, and “meli”, meaning “honey”. She was without a doubt, the sweetest person to walk the earth. Although she would most often go by Pam, she was affectionately nicknamed Pammy, Bam Bam, and Boy.
Raised Catholic, Pam would enthusiastically participate in all the prayer meetings her parents would lead out of their home. She would also happily tag along when her mother and friends traveled to various catholic churches in the community to pray novenas and the rosary. Through their example she formed a lasting relationship with God.
In high school Pam was Senior Class Treasurer, Cheerleader Captain, President of the Medical Careers Club, a Student Council Representative, and Miss Sam Houston High School. Upon graduating high school, she attended Texas A&M University, later transferring to Houston Community College where she received an associate degree in Arts in 2006. Always inquisitive and eager for knowledge, she then enrolled at the University of Houston, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology in 2010. Through her chosen fields of study, she multidimensionally explored her natural curiosity and appreciation of the world, its people, and their cultures. She loved all people, and all people loved her.
In her early twenties, Pam fought and won her battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She went on to marry her first husband who supported her through this difficult journey, Kirk Chargois. Due to the aggressive chemotherapy treatments and surgeries, Pam was told she’d never be able to have kids. The power of prayer prevailed, and Pam and Kirk were blessed with two miracle babies, Camille, and Cameron.
Pam worked as an Executive Assistant at Transocean and Yuhuang Chemical. She was regularly awarded for her diligent work with various accolades and promotions. Throughout her career she made lifelong friends who instantly became family.
In 2017 Pam reconnected with her high school friend, Kenneth McCauley; they were married on Valentine’s Day 2020. Ken supported Pam through her final journey with deep abiding devotion and unwavering compassion. He stood lovingly by her side until death parted them.
Pam would want to be remembered for the love she spread, the times she made us laugh, her silliness, her passion for life, and her love of family and friends. As beautiful as she was on the outside, and we all know she was one of God’s masterpieces, it paled in comparison to the beauty inside.
Pam was preceded in death by her mother Anita Guillory. She leaves to carry on her essence, her husband Kenneth; two children, Camille, and Cameron Chargois; father, Alfred Guillory; three sisters, Pat Bonton-Riser, Wandell (Larry) Hawkins, Sheila (Willie) Guillory-Greason; three brothers, Alfred Guillory Jr., Mitchell (Velma) Guillory, and Danny Guillory, as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
