Oralia H. Rivera

Oralia H. Rivera, 98, passed away peacefully on November 29th, 2017 in Houston, TX. She was born and raised in Lockhart, TX to parents Dionicio Hernandez and Virginia Rosales. She was passionate about education, politics, and the Houston Astros. Oralia embraced a life of discipline, compassion and strong faith in God.

She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Conner (Harry), Virginia Ortiz (Joe), Bertha Ortiz (Abel), her brother, Santiago “Jimmy” Hernandez, seventeen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Rivera, daughter, Ramie Rivera, and grandson, Robert Ortiz.

On Monday, December 4th, a funeral Mass will begin at 10 am at the church, Immaculate Heart of Mary (7539 Ave K, Houston, TX 77012), followed by burial at the South Park Cemetery (1320 N. Main ST, Pearland, TX 77581). On Sunday evening, December 3rd, visitation for family and friends will start at 5:00 pm and include a Rosary service at 6:30 pm at, Funeraria del Angel (901 Main ST, Pasadena, TX, 77506.
