Ollie Hester Oaks was born to Jessie Oaks and Addie B. Thompson on April 2, 1940 in Dobbin, TX. She was the youngest of three children. She attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1960. She worked for Drew Allen Daycare for many years as a cook. She then moved on to Premier Printing Company also for many years. She was married to Charles W. Hamilton Sr. and to this union three children were born, Charles W. Hamilton Jr., Cynthia Yvette Hamilton and Sylvia Yvonne Hamilton. Ollie was a member of the New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church for many years and served in many capacities. She then became a member of the St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church until her death. She was a faithful member and served on the Pastor’s aids committee, in the choir along with many other church duties. She leaves some very special people to remember: her brother Charles W. McCray, one devoted son Charles W. Hamilton Jr., daughters Cynthia Y. Simon (Alice Davis) and Sylvia Y. Hamilton (Virginia Harris), grandchildren Nastassia Simon (Felicia Nauls), Terrence Simon and honorary (Jermey Harris, Cory Harris, Crystal Clopton and Whitney Semien). A host of other nieces, nephews who loved her dearly. Preceding in her death were: mother Addie B. Thompson, sister Gladys Price, Aunts Jessie Henry, and Helena Sanders.
