Norma Beazley, Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord Saturday May 25th 2024 at the age of 90. Born on November 19th 1933 in Houston, later moving to Lafayette, Louisiana with her family where they stayed through childhood. Highly educated in business and real estate, Norma worked in multiple management positions at Gulf Oil before retiring. Norma had such a love for real estate, she became a real estate broker for a number of years to further her personal knowledge and assist in her and Herbert's investment transactions.
Norma was actively involved with Palmer Episcopal Church since the year 2012, serving in various capacities, her most favorite being alongside many other great cooks in the Cooking Guild, a subsect of the Church which routinely feeds hungry Houstonians. Arguably her most favorite past time, the Cooking Guild gave her a way to connect with her many friends within the church while cooking various entrees for large groups of people. Another love of Norma's was traveling the world with her husband Herbert, sister JoEllen, and her dear friends, Mike McKinley and Timothy Martin. Norma and Herbert were very active in collecting ocean liner memorabilia (well, mostly Herbert, but she supported it.) Norma recently donated their large collection of ocean liner memorabilia, including dining menus, to the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, Virginia.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents Richard H. and Norma Lupau Dominy, husband Herbert Beazley, sister JoEllen Phillips, brother in-law Charles Phillips, and Norma and Herbert's only child: a four-and-a-half pound Yorkshire Terrier, Randolph.
Norma is survived by niece Jay Lynn Hammes; grand nephew Derik Hammes, children Maggie, Sophie, and Beji; grand nephew Cody Hammes, daughter Abigail.
The family would like to thank Hannah Asfaw for the care and compassion shown for our loved one for the past year, including her final days. Norma believed Hannah is a wonderful caretaker, plus more- a loyal friend who became part of the family almost instantly. The family greatly appreciates the continuous care and companionship Ms. Asfaw provided Norma during their time together.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, 6221 Main St Houston, TX on Wednesday the 5th of June at 11:00 AM. Reception immediately following at 12:00 PM.
Graveside service will be held at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St Houston, TX at 2:00 PM.
