Nghia Viet Dinh, 71, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2016 at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital in Houston, Texas. Nghia was born in Xuan Thuy Nam Dinh, Vietnam, on February 28, 1944 to Hieu Viet Dinh and Van Thi Dinh. As a young man, Nghia grew up in the northern region of Vietnam in Nam Dinh, where he attended school then entered the military for the Southern Vietnamese army. After the war, he was captured and taken to a Communist re-education concentration camp for 4 years. Nghia spent 6 years living in Norway before migrating to the United States of America to become a successful businessman and a charitable person. As a dedicated son, brother, nephew, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, friend, businessman, and entrepreneur, he was the pillar of his family and those that knew him.
Nghia is now in heaven, reunited with many dear ones who have gone before him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Ru Viet Dinh, Son Ky Dinh, Lieu Thi Dinh, To Thi Dinh, Loan Thi Dinh, Hieu Viet Dinh and his daughter, Ngan Quynh Dinh. Nghia is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Nu, who shared 44 years together; 2 brothers, Luong Dinh and wife Ha Dinh, Le Dinh and wife Hoa Dinh; 3 children - Diem Hong Dinh and husband Geoffrey Vuong, Thomas Dinh, and Megan Kim Dinh; 2 grandchildren - Mason Vuong and William Vuong, and many loving nieces, nephews, friends.
Nghia’s celebration of life will start on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors located at 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 9:00 pm with a rosary prayer at 7:00 pm. On Friday, February 19, 2016, visitation will be held from 1:00 – 9:00 pm with a rosary prayer at 7:00 pm. Church services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 6550 Fairbanks North Houston Road, Houston, Texas 77040. Graveside services to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery located at 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055.
