The world was blessed with Nancy Ann Norman on May 6, 1942, born to parents Grover C. Norman, Jr. and Rebecca Williams Norman, in Houston, TX. Her early years were spent at Houston’s historic Emancipation Park, developing her swimming talents when she wasn’t at the Holman Street Theatre enjoying Old Western films.
Nancy dedicated her adult life to serving others. She worked as a Patient Care Assistant for 20 years, assisting patients during their greatest time of need. She later transitioned to a career in Communications, and served as the Assistant Chief Operator where she trained new Communications employees for the Texas Institute for Rehab and Rehabilitation (T.I.R.R). She retired in 2004, to enjoy family, casino trips and much deserved leisure time.
To those who knew and love Nancy, you remember her extraordinary work ethic, studies of astrology and passion for friends and family. She enjoyed hosting gatherings, adventurous outings and the beach. To know her was to know kindness, selflessness, and the true meaning of living your life in a way that makes you happy!
Nancy transitioned peacefully, in her home, on December 25, 2020. She is survived by her only daughter, Darlene Norman; Grandson, Jeffrey Lightbourn (wife Chinyere); Granddaughter, Jessica Norman; and Great Granddaughter, Lyra Lightbourn.
