In her final days, she was surrounded by siblings, children, grandchildren, and other beloved family.
On February 11th, 1953, Nancy was born to Lois Stratton and James Durbin of Jacksonville, FL. She was the first of four children. In October of 1971, Nancy married Wayne Mattson. The couple had two daughters, Christie and Amanda, but later divorced.
Nancy lived in the same home in Jacksonville, FL for nearly 40 years. She owned an in-home daycare and was proud of being a small businesswoman and of her impact on the children in her care. Known to most as simply “Nana”, she was always focused on other people first.
Nancy's life was blessed with seven grandchildren who she took great joy in. She attended as many of their activities as possible and was able to see three of them graduate high school.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by siblings Phyllis Gulden of Locust Grove, GA, Alan Durbin of Jacksonville, FL and Rhonda Durbin of McAlpin, FL; daughters Christie Wright (Tim) of Saint Johns, FL and Amanda Suter (Mark) of Tomball, TX; grandchildren Kinzie, Tylee, Kayson, Taylor, Trinitee, Kadence, and Noah; and other dear family. The Florida memorial will be April 13th at 3:00 PM with a reception to follow immediately after at Swiss Cove Christian Church, 1965 State Road 13, Fruit Cove, FL 32259, (Half mile north of Alpine Groves Park).
