Eva D. Watson, was born on July 16, 1922, to the late Dan Richards, Sr. and Lula Ward Richards in Easterly, Texas. At an early age, she and her family moved to Franklin, Texas, where she attended public schools. After completing her high school education, she met and fell in love with George Watson. After a brief courtship, Eva and George united in marriage and moved to the Heights, Houston, Texas, where they resided for over 50 years. Eva was employed with Sears&Roebuck for several years and later became a full time homemaker. Her husband of 73 years preceded her in death on August 15, 2014. No biological children were born to this union. Although, there were no biological children born of this union, Eva and George were surrogate parents to many of their nieces, nephews and children from the community. Eva loved to fish until her health declined. George was the gardener in the family and Eva loved to share with everyone that came to visit the vegetables and fruit that George worked tirelessly to harvest. Eva departed this life on Wednesday, September 9,, 2015 at 4:30 am at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister, Queen Ester Richards Gibbs of Houston, Texas; a dear and devoted cousin, Doris Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
