Millie was born on September 16th, 1934, to Kathleen and Melvin Foster in Larytown, Arkansas which was nothing but a bunch of cotton fields and a country store, and because of that, she would say she was born in Walnut Ridge instead. She grew up in Pasadena after her family moved to Texas for her father's work. She later worked as a meat wrapper for years for the Meat Wrapper's Union, then moved on to working for Brown and Root. After retiring, she became a school bus driver for Montgomery County until retiring for a second time, which is how most people knew her.
Aside from her time behind the wheel of a school bus, Millie was best known for her friendliness and how easy it was for her to talk to strangers and make acquaintances. Millie was the life of the party and never stopped being just as free spirited and wild as she was in her youth. She would go on cruises, dance, play slots, and shop like there was nothing to it.
Millie Melvonda is preceded in death by her brother Clay Foster, her father Melvin Foster, her dear mother Kathleen who passed at the age of 99, her daughter Gail Windham, her granddaughter Michelle Jones, and her great grandson Chance Jones.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband Darlene and Sonny Lowery, and her son and his wife Mike and Alma Parker. She also leaves us with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Lisa Plant, Traci and Mary Smith, Heather Bond, Michael and Misty Bond, Ashley Windham, Brooke Winthrop, Bryce Winthrop, Kinsley Bond, Brady Bond, and Grayson Bond.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brooksidechampions.com for the Parker family.
