She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hill. She was born on May 30, 1931 to Louis and Seda Mae Kirk in Rose City, Texas.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters, Carolyn Hataway and husband Burton, Glenda Hudnall and husband Michael; 1 granddaughter, Lindsay Simmons and husband Trent; 2 great-grandsons, Creed and Sawyer Simmons; 3 sisters: Flo Dukes, Lois Bailey and Audrey Matchett; along with many other loving family members and friends. She, also, has a host of sons that she and Willie raised at Boys Country of Houston.
Mildred taught piano lessons in her home for a number of years before she worked as a house parent at Boys Country for 18 1/2 years. She was the pianist and organist for Holland Avenue Baptist Church for 18 years. For 40 years, she was a dedicated Sunday School teacher and attended the Berean Baptist Church and Northwest Baptist Church faithfully until her death.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home on Highway 59 at Lauder Road. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Grand Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home and interment will immediately follow the services at Brookside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in her honor to Northwest Baptist Church Mission Fund for the specific use to reprint the "Basic Bible Truths" book.
