Mildred Anthony

1910 – 2015

Mildred Anthony welcomed the coming of God’s sovereign resolve to carry her spirit to her eternal rest as she transitioned to everlasting glory on Monday, January 5, 2015, just five short days before her 105th birthday.

Mildred Anthony was born in San Augustine, Texas on January 10, 1910 to Dan and Beatrice Washington. She was affianced to the late Jule Anthony, and together they shared 35 loving years of holy matrimony, baring 3 children, Otis, Eloise, and Dorothy Jean.

Mildred Anthony thoroughly enriched the lives of everyone she encountered. She endured and overcame the many battles of this life, and imparted a wealth of wisdom and knowledge to all she knew, paying forward the sagacity 104 years of life with what God blessed her.

Mildred is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Givens, Dorothy Thierry, and Wayne Hunter; close great grandchildren; and her multigenerational extended family of nieces, nephews, and in-laws; as well as her church family.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the True Light Baptist Church, 4017 Hamilton Street, Houston, Texas 77004. The Memorial Viewing will be at 9:00am, and the Celebration of Life Service will immediately precede the viewing at 11:00am at the same location.
