Michael Rene Rios was born on June 9, 1964 and died on November 14, 2014. He was half a century old. Michael was born and resided in Houston , TX but his memories will span the whole of Texas. He left behind a behemoth of family that loved him with all heart and soul. His beloved parents, mother Celia Gonzales Puente and father Arturo Serafin Rios. His two siblings, Arthur Gonzales Rios and Regina Gonzales Rios-Pena and a multitude of adopted brothers and friends that Michael will always call his own.
There are some things you should know about this gift to God. His qualities were undeniable; the love he shared with everyone he met could teach a lesson to the world. His smile was contagious. Michael had no enemies in the world. He could have but he chose not to. If he was hurt by others he move on with his grief and unhappiness and turned it into everything to live by. Family and friends loved him. He moved your soul with his passion, all of his passion. His music, his laughter, his desire to help one another and his heart that never, ever forgot one person that he had the pleasure of talking to.
Michael had been in many bands. Noteworthy are Mambo Jazz Kings and LOP. His talent went unrecognized by few. Everyone closer to him knew he was a talented and extraordinary musician. He did not stop at playing bass. He was writing his own songs, his own music. He wrote poems that no one ever had the chance to hear. His bass thrilled hundreds. When Cooled was on stage he was completely unstoppable which was evident by the noise from the crowd and by the love exhibited by the crowds and family and friends that went to watch him.
Michael’s life was build around family and friends. He never asked for anything but love and he always gave that love back. His love was devoted beyond words can say. His heart was so, so large that it never ran out of hugs and kisses. Divided between his family and friends, his love went around the world more than anyone could count.
Michael’s other work cannot go unnoticed. If you wanted a sound system built into a teepee Michael could do it. Instead of teepees Michael concentrated on Lamborghinis, Indian bikes, the coolest Cameros, and just the amazing boats you could imagine. He was the “Master Installer” and his work will go on as he was such a mentor to others.
Michael’s generosity was shared with everyone he knew and everyone that would let him share this beautiful trait. His love, oh my, his heart was so large that this is what took him to heaven. He loved every single walking, talking person he encountered. His love had no bounds. He had no one which spoke harshly against him, due in fact that Michael never had a harsh word to share. I am so happy he is where is so he can distribute that love amongst us and teach us what love really, really is. You could not ask for a better brother.
