Michael Mark Metcalf, of Houston, TX, passed away Monday April 14th, 2014. He is survived by his two sons, Scott Metcalf, of Austin, Texas, and daughter Chloe; and Adam Yekin, of Surprise, Arizona, and wife Jessica and son Peyton.
Mike was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 1st, 1950 and was the third of five children, born to Hugh and Lucille Metcalf. He served in the Army in Vietnam and was honorably discharged after 3 years of service.
Mike worked in the Oil and Aerospace Fields for over 40 years. He was a hard worker and thoroughly loved his job. His accomplishments included working on the Titan II Rocket for General Dynamics and he was the lead Non-Destructive Testing Engineer in the development of the Boeing 787.
Mike was caring; everywhere his work took him to, he always made friends and lifelong relationships. Mike never met a stranger. Mike also loved sports, excelling in football at a young age receiving All State Running Back Honors in High School, which carried him into college and helped prepare him for the military.
A memorial service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home in Cypress, Texas on April 18th, 2014 at 3:00pm.
