Michael Landrum "Michael P." was born to Mr. Frank Van Buren & Mary Louise Landrum on October 2, 1952. He attended and graduated from George Washington High, in Los Angeles, California with honors. In January 1973, he joined the United States Navy Corp and received an Honorable Discharge. After being discharged and receiving his diploma as a Dental Tech, he was employed at Dr. Beauchamps Dental Clinic on Crenshaw Blvd. He was later employed by the City of Compton. He later moved to Texas where he spent his last years being a father, friend, uncle, great philosopher of life and retired as a truck driver. Michael was loving, kind, patient, and considerate to all. Most of all, he felt his greatest accomplishment of life was his son, Michael E. Landrum, leaving cherished sacred secret laughs, jokes and most of all love.
Michael Landrum departed this life on August 4th at 3:53 pm in Rockwall, TX and joined those who preceded him; parents: Frank & Mary Landrum; brother, Derek Landrum. Survivors include his son, Michael Edward Landrum; grandson, Iverson Warran Landrum; daughter-in-law, Keita White; longtime & loving companion, Carolyn Watson, along with her daughters & grandchildren; sister, Rita Thompson & husband Claude; brother, William “Tony” Monroe; nieces & nephews. Visitation will be from 4-8PM on Tues., Aug. 13th. Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wed., Aug. 14th at Brookside. Interment with Military Honors to follow.
