Melanie Jo Moon

Melanie Jo Moon. Our Heavenly Father blessed the world with Melanie Jo Moon 55 years ago in Houston, Texas and called her back to Heaven on June 18, 2013. Melanie was an amazing daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, and she left a lasting impression on all who knew her. During her almost 20 year career as a nursing assistant she mentored countless young students, many of whom called her mom for the rest of her life. Melanie had the amazing ability to connect with all kinds of people on a very personal level, to be able to see the world through their eyes, and to touch their hearts through her selfless compassion. The pride of Melanie’s life was her family, who continues to love her deeply, and whose love she cherished more than life itself. Melanie will continue to live on in the hearts of her mother and father, Donald and Barbara Chambers; her loving husband, Cecil Moon, her sisters: Melinda Fitzhenry and Melissa Herman, her children: Seth Shumate, Sean Shumate, Jacob Pennington, Meagan Neman and Mandi Moon; as well as six beautiful grandchildren. Visitation will be held pn Friday, June 21 from 5-8 p.m. A service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 10 a.m. Both services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
