Matthew Alexander Sanchez of Channelview, Texas was born July 14, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital to Felix and Adelita Sanchez. He was the second son to be born to this union. Alex spent his infant and toddler years at Wela Sanchez and Tia J’s personal day cares then later attended Harvey Brown Elementary; North Shore Middle School then went on to graduate from North Shore Senior High School in 2019.
At a very early age Alex knew how to overcome adversity as he was born with a critical heart condition that required him to undergo open heart surgery at the age of 2. With God on his side and many prayers he was healed and grew to be a strong young man.
Alex loved music. He often walked around the house singing. One of the most vivid memories his little brother has is of him singing in the car with their mom. He also had a “green thumb” in the garden and loved playing basketball. He enjoyed playing pickle ball and volleyball with his cousins at family events. Alex gained a lot of his knowledge on different topics by reading. He read a lot. He did it because when it came to debate, he had to always be right, make his point and have the last word.
Alex’s first job was as a forklift operator at Home Depot where he enjoyed working. Most recently he joined Everest Valve Company as a welder’s helper. He was so excited about this this new journey, loved his job and co-workers. A special thank you to the Everest Family for giving him an opportunity and a fresh start.
Alex was a beautiful, kind and genuine soul. His smile and laugh were infectious. He may have never known this, but he left his footprints on many peoples hearts especially in the most recent weeks before his passing.
Alex made his transition on a Good Friday on April 7, 2023 in his home of all his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Adelita Sanchez, grandparents Mateo and Margarita Frausto and grandfather Felix Sanchez.
Alex leaves to cherish his memory by his father Felix Sanchez Jr, big brother Michael Sanchez and wife Ashley, his little brother Felix, cats Jinx and Guera, grandmother Elvia Sanchez, aunts, uncles and many loving cousins and second cousins.
Forever in our hearts. We love you always our Sweet Alex.
