First and foremost, Mary had great love for the Lord and was strong in her Christian faith.
Mary attended nursing school at Sisters of Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, MS and spent many years working as an RN. After retiring she travelled to many places around the world, always enjoying other cultures and people.
Her love of plants, especially orchids, (actually anything pink!), was very apparent when you saw her efforts to collect rain water so they could have the very best. She enjoyed cooking for others and playing bridge with her friends. But most of all Mary loved being with her family.
Everyone who knew Mary loved her and thought of her as a true “Southern Belle”. She always had a way of making you feel special.
She is predeceased by her husband Tommie Whipple Hines Jr.
Mary is survived by her sister Anne Penley, her two daughters; Keppel Alexander and Melanie Neveux Bell, her former husband Ezra Alexander, her grandson Alexander Craig Neveux (who was the absolute joy of her life) son-in-law Grady Bell, and extended family of six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Salvation Army or your local animal shelter.
