Martha married the love of her life on August 19, 1960. She volunteered for over 20 years in the Cy-Fair School District, and was a member of the OES for 40 years. Martha was a patient, caring, loving, extraordinary, resilient, and strong woman in every way. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Iva (Tommy) Maxwell; father, Charles (Chuck) Maxwell; brother, Robert Taylor; and son-in-law, Jim Shelton.
Martha is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, James Ladd; Children, Deborah Shelton, Steve Ladd, Robin Harper, Son-In-Law, Andrew Harper; Grandchildren, Charlotte and Willow Harper.
Visitation for Martha will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Following the visitation, a Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM. Graveside will immediately follow the services, for those wishing to join at Brookside Memorial Park. There will also be a Remembrance held at Woodland Lodge AF&AM after graveside, for those also wishing to attend, 8337 Sweetwater Ln, Houston, TX 77037.
