Marta Rodriguez Nunez

Marta Rodriguez Nunez, 89, of Houston, TX, passed away on August 23, 2021. She was born in Havana, Cuba on December 27, 1931 to Dr. Francisco Rodriguez and Rosario Gracia. She attended La Inmaculada high school and the University of Havana, where she earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She married Miguel Martinez on July 24, 1965 in Havana, Cuba. Marta worked as a pharmacist in Cuba until immigrating to the U.S. in 1980. She worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX for 21 years, where she was a dedicated employee, and where she made many friends.

Marta was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Miguel Martinez and Frank Martin; daughter-in-law, Felicidad Alejo; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Penelope.

Visitation will be at Forest Park Westheimer, Friday, Sept. 10, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Burial will be at Forest Park Westheimer, Saturday, Sept. 11, at 10:00 am

A visitation for Marta will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A committal service will occur Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
