These times will always be cherished memories to me.  Rest well my dear friend Marshall.

Melinda Brown

•A serious picture of Marshall looking at four generations of his Roloff family.  He took the family to dinner after the death of his only Grandson Steve Roloff.
•Shopping for the perfect chair to help him with his back pain.  This was not his final selection.
•Halloween party at the church...Marshall was happy to wave his big bad wolf to all.
•Marshall enjoyed the attention of pretty girls especially when the brought him chocolate.

•Veterans Day was spent with other soldiers  for free pancakes.  I observed the admiration they gave to each other it made me proud to be an American.
•I accompanied Marshall on a trip to Utah, the love the family felt for their beloved Uncle Marshall  was wonderful .

I so enjoyed caring for Marshall in his home for the past five years.  These are some of my favorite memories and observations of his latter years.  
•Reading the newspaper while watching Fox News was something he has enjoyed doing for many years
•Going on trips to the barbershop and keeping well groomed was always important to him.
•The annual Texas tradition of posing with the perfect patch of wildflowers.

Marshall (my beloved uncle) was a very good man who was adored and respected by everyone who knew him. He was, and always will be my hero. Among other things, his guidance and influence led to my own choice to become a dentist, and I will always be grateful to him for that. Marshall will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Remembering Dr. Young.  He was my dentist growing up along with being my brother’s and sister’s dentist.  I’ll never forget when he’d have to deaden my mouth.  He’d tell me it was a big ole mosquito coming in,  well, that must have been THE biggest damn mosquito in Texas because it hurt !

My mother and I would see Dr Young from time to time at Kroger after he retired and Mrs Young had died.   Dr. Young died 1 day before my mother died.  

Dr. Young was a nice man (and so was Mary).  Prayers to the families and know that I still remember the sign in his office....”You don’t have to floss your teeth,  just the ones you want to keep”.

I was always excited when I learned that Marshall (my uncle) was coming to Utah for a visit because I knew that happy times were ahead!  When he walked through the door his big, broad smile filled every corner, and his hearty laugh echoed through the entire house. 
He teased the kids and shared stories of his childhood on the family farm in Wellington.  The past came alive, we learned details about our mother that she never shared. We saw family dynamics through the eyes of the only boy raised in the house.  Marshall made the 1920s and '30s seem much more exciting than our lives in the '50s and '60s.  Everyone adore him, my siblings, my cousins, my  aunts (his 7 sisters);  he was like glue that held the family together.  We will miss him dearly.  

I want to add thanks to Melinda Brown for the positive, loving companionship and care she has given Marshall.  What a blessing she has been to the entire family.  

One more immeasurable and unspeakable word of gratitude ... this one to Don Butler, who did more than any of us know) for his love and support for Marshall.  Their already deep bond grew even deeper during recent years.

My husband and I feel blessed to have known this wonderful man and treasure the many fond memories we have of him.  He will be missed.
