Mark graduated from Humble High School with the class of 1985. Mark completed a one year program in Cosmetology at North Harris County College in May, 1987. He worked for Chelsea Catering Company at George Bush Intercontinental Airport where he enjoyed the travel benefits that came with the job. He also worked in the General Office of the University of St. Thomas where he loved interacting with the other staff members and the college students.
Mark came into this world early as a preemie weighing only 2 pounds and 12 ounces on August 18, 1965. He was born with hydrocephalus and was a miracle baby who survived that. A special, double-pump Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shuns gentle spirit and was a kind and quiet man who amazed his family every day with his bravery and strength. He had more surgeries during his life than anyone should have, including numerous shunt revisions and 3 kidney transplants. Mark loved animals, especially his pet dogs and parrots. He was always ready to go anywhere with you. And he loved going out to eat especially for crispy tacos, burgers or Mod pizza. He amazed us all with his ability to identify almost any make of car on the road at a glance. Mark was a kind man and was loved by everyone who met him. Nurses were especially fond of him and often told us how sweet and funny Mark was as their patient. He will be buried next to his maternal grandparents, Kittie Mae and Garland Jones Sr. who helped take care of him as a baby. Mark will be greatly missed. He was 57.
