He was born in Trinidad and Tobago on June 27th, 1975. He graduated top of his class in high school and was awarded the Trinidad and Tobago Island Scholarship Award scholarship. He graduated in 1997 from The University of the West Indies and attended The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, graduating in 2012. He went on to reside in Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, and The United States.
Mark Persad married Polin Sankar-Persad on August 6th, 2000, and they had three beautiful children. He is survived by his daughters, Antonia and Angelika Persad, as well as his son, Sebastian Persad. He will be mourned and missed by both his parents, Frank and Marilyn Persad, his siblings, Ryan Persad and Candice Rooplal, his nieces Anya, Sophia and Isabella, his nephew Rohan, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mark was a beacon of light and love. He was a wonderful cook, passionate about fitness, and above all, a dedicated father and husband. He was constantly making others laugh. He cannot be summarized in a few words but there is no one who met him who did not love him. Mark was happiest playing with his son, poking fun at his daughters and laughing with his wife. He leaves behind a family that is only incredibly grateful to have the time with him they did. He lived many lifetimes in much too short a time and leaves behind a legacy of kind-heartedness met with a practicality that he was admired for.
A visitation for Mark will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champion, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM which is joinable through livestream. A Catered Reception will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
