Maria de la Luz Contreras

Maria de la Luz Contreras, age 94, of Houston, Texas passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. Maria is daughter to Aurelio and Carmen Contreras along with 7 other siblings. Maria loved her family and spending time with them at parties, family gatherings and holidays. She was a very hard working person who we like to call a fashionista. Maria loved beautiful outfits and accessories. After living with her daughter Patricia for many years and being taken care of by Tatiana Cano she lived with her son Dargelo the last years of her life. Maria was a strong and healthy women till the very end. She is loved by her family and will be missed very much.

Maria is survived by her 4 children, Ana Maria Coronado Contreras, Jose Coronado Contreras, Patricia Gomez and Dargelo Fornaris, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Maria will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A rosary service will occur Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. An inurnment ceremony will occur Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079.
