Born in Durango, Mexico on April 2, 1935 to Santiago and Maria Bernabe Renteria, Maria spent most of her youth helping to provide for her younger siblings. In 1956 she married Esteban Acosta and they relocated to the United States, where they eventually settled down in Houston, Texas in 1974. Their hard work ethic was instilled in their children with much love and determination. Maria was highly esteemed by her friends and family because of her strong love and devotion for God. She was an excellent example as a Christian and a mother, always putting others before herself; which was something she learned from a young age. She touched many hearts throughout her life’s journey and will forever be missed by all.
