Manuel Garza Santos, age 90, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 26, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father Pablo Santos and his mother Nestora Garza. Manuel was the devoted husband of Maria. They were married for 64 years. Manuel was the dear father of Ofelia Olvany (Rob), Victor Santos (Gloria) and Irma Trapolino (Tony); grandfather of Sasha Williams (David), Robert Olvany, III, Ruben Santos, David Santos, Desiree Smith (John) and Martin Gutierrez,Jr. He is also survived by six great-grandkids: Savannah, Cooper, Carter, Edward, Ethan and Elijah. Manuel’s surviving sisters are Rosa Alcorta and Oralia Santos.
Manuel worked for many years for the Mexico division of Ford Motor Company. In his personal time, Manuel enjoyed fishing at the Texas City Dyke and went every free weekend he could. Manuel also loved woodworking and creating special gifts for family members and friends. Another one of his favorite pastimes was playing lotto scratch-offs and the Texas Lotto every week. He constantly amazed us with his good luck. He particularly enjoyed watching his grandkids and great-grandkids grow up. His family is proud of the legacy he has left and are thankful for the blessing of having him in their lives and being able to share him with you all. Manuel will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held from 5-9pm and a Chapel Service from 7-7:30pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo Navigation on Wednesday, July 6. Burial will be from 10-10:30am at Forest Park Lawndale on Thursday, July 7.
Serving as pallbearers are Victor Santos, Ruben Santos, David Santos, Robbie Olvany, Martin Gutierrez Jr. and John Smith.
