MaKaila Raven JaNae Simon

MaKaila Raven JaNae Simon, age 15, of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday January 27, 2019. MaKaila was born January 24, 2004 in Houston, TX to Alicia L. Simon and Roy E. Simon. Ma'Kaila was a freshman at Lamar High School. She loved basketball, volleyball, track, shopping with family and friends, school and yellow butterflies.

MaKaila is survived by; father Roy E. Simon and mother Alicia L. Simon; siblings Nehemiah Carway, Michael Simon, The'Une Foster, Royal Simon and Shakya Foster; grandparents Wanda Pipkins, Mary Ann Simon, Hayward Black, and Stanley Griggs, nephew Chase Pitman, aunts Yolanda Simon, Erica Ross, Regina Riley, Jessica Smith and Kameshia Cooper, and uncles Derrick Simon, Kelvin Johnson and Richard Brown.

A visitation for MaKaila will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Lighthouse Church of Houston, 6650 Rankin Road, Humble, Texas 77396 with a committal service to follow immediately at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Johnson, Michael Simon, Royal Simon, Ka'Boris Johnson, Anthony Simon, William Lacey, Kelvin Johnson, Gary Hill and Marcus Riley.
