Lynn Gary Potter, age 57, born in Sharon, Connecticut on September 8, 1953, passed away on June 1, 2011 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He is preceded in death by his father, Junior Lynn Potter. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Evelo; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Potter of Lawrenceville VA; brothers: Chris Potter and wife Karen of Alberta VA; Russell Potter and wife, Kathy of Hillsborough NJ; and Peter Potter and wife, Tracy of Ithaca NY, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In 1990, Lynn moved to his adoptive state of Texas and began his career in the food and beverage industry where he met his wife, Cindy. He worked in management for Spellbinder's Comedy Club, The Houston Club, Raveneaux Country Club, and lastly, at Lakeside Country Club.
Lynn was an avid golfer and both he and Cindy played regularly. They had the pleasure of traveling and playing golf across the United States as well as Bermuda. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at MD Anderson, especially Dr. John Skibber, Dr. Nikesh Jasani, Physician Assistant Elizabeth Wolf, and nurse Carol Wildrick, as well as the staff of Odyssey Hospice, especially nurses Debra Smith, Danielle Peterson, and Johnnie Robinson.
