Lucille A. Griffith, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, peacefully returned to her Lord and Savior on December 12, 2024. She was born on March 14, 1936, in Bayard, Nebraska, to Nick and Beulah Harms. Her family later moved to Morrill, Nebraska, where she completed her education, graduating from Morrill High School in May 1954.
Lucille attended Hastings college, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in June 1958. Following her graduation, she taught kindergarten for five years before marrying Douglas K. Griffith on June 23, 1963. As a devoted Navy wife, Lucille embraced the many adventures they experienced together around the world for 61 years. In 1994, she and Doug settled in Seabrook, Texas, where they have lived ever since.
Lucille cherished creating a loving home for her family, gardening, reading, and volunteering in her community. She also enjoyed playing rummy, making and savoring her famous "Greek Soup," and watching the Rockets play. Additionally, she was an active member of Good Shepherd Church in League City.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Doug; her children, Tim and Kari; and her brother, John Harms.
A visitation for Lucille will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Friday, December 27, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038. A celebration of life will occur Friday, December 27, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Good Shepherd Church, 3151 FM Rd 518 East, League City, TX 77573.
