Lorelle Hadaway, 39, of Houston passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. Lorelle was born on March 5, 1984 in Fort Worth, Texas to Roger Hadaway and the late Bernadette Hadaway.
When Lorelle was 7 or 8 years old, her dad took her fishing. Her dad went to look for a prime spot to fish, and by the time he got back to Lorelle, she had let all the minnows go and had a happy look on her face. Lorelle’s love for animals led her to work at a vet clinic and then on to The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network (TMMSN) in Galveston, Texas to support the mission of mammal conversation, particularly for dolphins and whales.
Lorelle graduated from Texas A&M University at Galveston with a degree in Marine Biology. With her degree, she worked offshore in Alaska, New England, and the Gulf of Mexico for several years.
After a few years, Lorelle decided to come back on land and be a Registered Nurse (RN) Caregiver. Lorelle graduated from Oklahoma City University with a degree in Nursing and obtained her Registered Nurse (RN) license. Lorelle worked several positions in nursing and finally got her dream job at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. However, health issues and her mother’s death led her back to Texas. Lorelle put up a brave fight with her issues but finally succumbed on December 23rd. Lorelle was a special, loving, and caregiving person who danced to a different drummer. She will be missed.
Lorelle was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadette Ann Hadaway; her aunt, Kathy Rapp; her maternal grandparents, Charles and Margaret Rapp; and her paternal grandparents, Roland and Mary Hadaway.
Lorelle lives in the hearts of her father, Roger Hadaway; her brother, Matthew (Matt) Hadaway and spouse, Adrienne Hadaway, and nephew, Roland Hadaway; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial will be hosted at a later date.
